Andrew is a partner at SBW who works with entrepreneurs and their families. With over 20 years in the industry, Andrew helps clients think outside of the business by looking at areas of retirement planning, income protection, tax and estate planning, and life insurance analysis.
Andrew is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University, holds a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. He lives in Bedford with his wife Mary Jane and two boys, Hudson and Marshall. When not at the office, Andrew can be found coaching hockey, golfing, or at the beach with his family.
Kenneth specializes in helping business owners and professionals manage their wealth using comprehensive planning solutions. He brings extensive experience to the team having spent over a decade working in the finance industry in Canada and the United Kingdom, prior to joining SBW. Most recently, he was a Vice President with a global asset management firm.
Kenneth holds an MBA from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) from Cape Breton University, where he was a member of the nationally ranked men’s basketball team. Kenneth and his wife, Megan, live in Fall River with their young son.
Roger is a founding partner of SBW Wealth Management and has been providing advice to clients for over 39 years. Roger takes a big picture approach to planning and relies on his experience and expertise to allow him to identify challenges and create a clear plan of action. Roger has also applied these skills to many volunteer efforts spanning his career.
He is an active fundraiser for Brigadoon Children’s Camp Society and a former member of the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Cancer Society. In 2015, Roger was invited to the board of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and served as Board Chair for 2019 – 2020. CALU engages in political advocacy and government relations activities related to advanced planning issues on behalf of its members. CALU represents the interests of some 13,000 financial advisors and, in turn, the interests of millions of Canadians.
Roger is a graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island (served six years on Board of Governors) and holds a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. In 2011, Roger was nationally recognized as the recipient of the prestigious Jack Hopwood Memorial Award, presented by Great-West Life to a financial advisor who has played an outstanding volunteer role in his community.
Cheryl joined the SBW team in 2015 and has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry with companies such as London Life, RBC Insurance and Manulife.
Due to her strong work ethic, Cheryl ensures even the simplest of tasks are completed properly and in a timely manner. Always looking for new challenges, she received her ACS and ALMI certification through LOMA in 2013 and 2015. Passing her ALMI exam with only 2 weeks to study the entire course.
When not at work, you can find Cheryl managing the activities for her three very busy children.
Jessica McKay is a seasoned administrative professional with over eight years of progressively responsible experience, coupled with 11 years of customer service expertise. As a Wealth Support Associate, Jessica leverages her comprehensive background in executive support, project coordination, and client relations to drive efficiency and deliver exceptional service to our team and clients.
Jessica's career includes key roles such as Executive Assistant and Strategy & Project Coordinator, where she excelled in managing complex schedules, organizing high-impact projects, and developing innovative processes that enhance productivity. Her expertise in various software applications allows her to adapt seamlessly to the evolving needs of the workplace while advocating for efficiency and innovation.

Jim is a private enterprise and family wealth coach, specializing in serving the interests of privately held businesses and their families. Having spent most of his career in public accounting, Jim understands the day to day challenges most entrepreneurs and their families are facing. He is uniquely qualified to understand just how lonely business owners and their families can feel when facing difficult times. Jim’s experience and knowledge builds layers of insight and allows for the development of practical solutions to the many obstacles faced along the journey to prosperity.
Jim is a graduate of Dalhousie University and a Chartered Public Accountant. Jim is a proud volunteer and community leader, serving on many Boards over the course of his career including: The Parkinson Society of Canada, Parkinson’s Society Maritime Region, and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
Chris Heaman has over 28 years of experience in the financial industry and has provided clients with discretionary portfolio management services since 2012. Chris draws on his background in sports psychology to guide his approach to investments, recognizing the impact of human behaviour on investment success.
With this insight in mind, Chris designs portfolios that prioritize minimizing downside risk, particularly during turbulent market conditions when behaviour can be negatively impacted. He utilizes institutional tools like those in pension plans to manage volatility and protect clients’ capital from erosion. By implementing this strategy, Chris helps his clients stay the course and remain calm during market turbulence, resulting in a smoother investment journey and a reduced likelihood of panic.
As Chris believes, reducing the opportunity for loss is vital to increasing the probability of growth. With his expertise and innovative approach, Chris strives to help clients achieve their financial goals with confidence and peace of mind.
Catherine is the Chief Compliance Officer at Quintessence Wealth.
Prior to joining Quintessence Wealth, Catherine founded Frame Global Asset Management, where she was a Portfolio Manager and Chief Compliance Officer. While at Frame Global Asset Management, she established the compliance department and focused on building a track record for their asset allocation models. Prior to Frame, Catherine worked at Cougar Global Investments as a Senior Compliance and Research Analyst, where she worked on the investment management side of their suite of global portfolios and promoted their strategies across the United States.
Catherine graduated from the University of Toronto (Honours BA in Economics) and is a CFA Charterholder.
